GameAgent Discounts To Our Apple Friends and Family [Updated]

Posted by Russ Looney
Update: Whoops!  Looks like we may jumped the gun a bit on our partner discount program!  If you’re having troubles, please be patient as we work to get everything up and running correctly! Update 2: It seems the issue is with new accounts.  If you’ve already shopped at GameAgent.com with your me.com, mac.com, or apple.com email address, you should be good to go.  Otherwise, you’ll have to wait a bit while we get everything sorted out.  However, to make up for it, we’ve boosted the discount to 10%, so hang in there! Today GameAgent is announcing its “Friends and Family Forever” discount.  What does that mean?  Simple–basically, anyone with an email address ending in me.com, mac.com or apple.com will be eligible for a discount at GameAgent.com!  There’s really nothing to it.  All you have to do is sign in to GameAgent through this special Partner Discount link.  Once you’re logged in, you’ll see ALL titles discounted by at least 5% 10% (sure, perhaps it’s not the most ground-breaking discount, but it sure as heck beats paying full price!). Many of you have probably received a newsletter with this information, but in case you haven’t, here’s what we had to say:

You’ve been to GameAgent.com to find your favorite Mac Games, maybe read a blog entry or two, and hopefully even bought something. In a world where our virtual relationship is all we have, that makes us friends! And since you’re our friend, we want to extend a special discount available on all future GameAgent.com purchases. When placing an order online using your me.com, apple.com, or mac.com email address, *you will magically receive 5% off GameAgent.com purchases!

Of course, we’re not just friends, are we? We also like to think we’re family, and family looks out for each other. Tell the other folks in our giant family to take advantage of this easy discount. You can forward emails to friends, remind family to sign up for the newsletter, and like us on Facebook for all the world to see. The offer works on all me.com, mac.com and apple.com email addresses, so share the Apple-Lovin’ Word!

Don’t forget you can keep up to date and get more notices by signing up for our newsletter!  Also, an important reminder: You must log in via the Special Partner discount link to receive the discount, so be sure and bookmark or save the URL for future reference!  Also, the discount unfortunately does not work with other offers (you’re technically taken to a different storefront that does not feature any existing promotions).  Finally, if you have any troubles with the discount, let us know! Hit the jump to see full details on the offer… (more…)

Classic Reviews: 1701 A.D. PC gets 92% (FileFactory Games, 12/06)

Posted by Russ Looney
1701 AD PC boxshotCurrently on sale at GameAgent.com along with its subsequent expansion, The Sunken Dragon, 1701 A.D. (PC) is a unique empire building sim set in the period of the 17th and 18th centuries.  Similar to strategy games such as the Civilization franchise, players are given the task of setting out to discover and inhabit new lands and grow their small colonies into thriving cities.  Players can manage their colonies and their virtual neighbors in 1701 A.D. (PC) through trade, diplomacy, or direct conflict. What sets 1701 A.D. apart from its other strategy-based brethren is that it’s incredibly easy to pick up and play.  Instead of a linear, mission-based game, 1701 A.D. lets players set their own goals and play their way while interacting with the game world and more than 100 “sub-quests” that offer various rewards.  The gentle learning curve is just one of the reasons James Nonamaker of FileFactory Games finds 1701 A.D. (PC) to be a “great game at a great price.”  As he tells it in his review, he is blown away by the visuals and the overall subtle complexities of the game.  Check out a snippet below, then follow the link to catch the full review!

Posted by Russ Looney
PuzzleQuest Galactrix PC boxshotHey there, space fans!  Today we’re posting a review of PuzzleQuest: Galactrix PC from the guys at X-Play, one of the premier video outlets for finding video game reviews.  Normally the PuzzleQuest PC review would be text-based, but since Galactrix is set in space, we thought we’d go all “high-tech” on you and embed a video (you know, since videos are all “high-tech” and stuff…)!  The video review is short and sweet, perfect for the on-the-go space marine, and still really details what makes PuzzleQuest: Galactrix such a great follow-up to the fantastic original.  And for those that are dying to break out their reading glasses, hit the link after the video to check out the fully-written review on G4TV!

GameAgent Weekend Sale BLOWOUT!

Posted by Russ Looney
Either we at GameAgent have gone bat$#!t crazy, or we just really like you guys (or maybe a bit of both?).  Either way, everybody is in for a treat this weekend as we’re throwing out tons of deals and promos for you to enjoy!

QuakeCon 2010 logo

First off, we’re celebrating QuakeCon 2010 with a selection of sales on all of our id games!  Each remaining day of QuakeCon will see a different game go on sale for ONLY $6.50 for the day.  Here’s the schedule:

Next up is a deal that goes hand-in-hand with the QuakeCon sale!  Oftentimes when deciding between a digital copy of a game and a boxed copy of a game, the choice is pretty easy–why pay for shipping (and thus a delayed play experience) when you can get the game immediately for no charge?  Well, we’re aiming to make that choice a little bit harder this weekend with our FREE SHIPPING promotion.  Between now and the end of the day (11:59pm CDT) Sunday, August 15, all orders of $19.99 or more will receive free shipping!

GameAgent Free Shipping weekend

You can mix and match games as you see fit; we have multiple games that sell for under $20, and games on special sale count, too!  We also have plenty of great games that sell for exactly $19.99, including Battlefield 1942 Deluxe (Mac), Civilization IV (Mac) and its expansions, PuzzleQuest: Galactrix (PC), and Homeworld 2 (Mac)!

Men of War PC on sale

That’s still not all we’re offering this weekend, though!  You can also grab the boxed version of the fantastic World War II RTS Men of War (PC) for only $6.50 (67% off)!  Grab the boxed version at a discount or the digital version at full price, and get the sequel Men of War: Red Tide (PC) for only $10!  You didn’t think those Men of War reviews were posted for no reason, did you? We’re really excited about our weekend promos, and we hope you guys are, too!  Let us know what you think, good or bad, in the comments.  And happy gaming!
