Borderlands 2 on the Mac App Store today received an update making available all the latest DLC for in-app purchase. This list includes the recent Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep campaign DLC; the 6th Vault Hunter, Krieg the Psycho Bandit, as part of the Psycho Pack; and an increased level cap with the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack.
Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, the biggest and most inspired add-on content in Borderlands history, features a game within a game, as Tiny Tina takes on the role of Bunker Master in a game of “Bunkers & Badasses.” Players will explore an ever-changing world of castles, dungeons and magic forests as they fight off skeletons, orcs, dragons and more.
The Psycho Pack introduces the newest playable Vault Hunter, Krieg the Psycho Bandit. Players can focus on the bonus-stacking Bloodlust tree, the melee and explosive damage-friendly Mania tree, the fire-breathing Hellborn tree, or a mixture of all three. Regardless of what skill path players choose, Krieg is also unique in that taking damage reduces the cooldown of his action skill, the Buzz Axe Rampage, which features a 500% melee boost and instant health regeneration for each kill! Think of him as a fireball-spewing, TNT-throwing, Buzz Axe-slashing badass version of Brick.
The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack raises the level cap by 11 levels to 61. Further, this piece of DLC introduces a new level of rare and powerful weapons, called “Pearlescent.” These weapons are extraordinarily powerful and will only drop at a minimum level of 51.
Finally, just by installing the latest update, players will gain free access to Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, which opens up a third playthrough. However, in this mode, enemies will scale to the level of the highest-leveled party member; players must have beaten the game in True Vault Hunter mode and must have reached level 50 to access the third playthrough. In addition, the update also allows players to carry more Eridium and spend it on additional ammo SDUs and inventory space.
As previously noted, the three new DLC packs will be available as in-app purchases that can be accessed in the Borderlands 2 game launcher that opens up whenever players start the game.
