College Football Returns! (And Why You Should Care)

Posted by Russ Looney

Football Returns!

It’s September, which means one last hurrah for summer on Labor Day, back-to-school shopping, and, for the parents out there, enjoying the perks of a finally-empty house.  Oh, and it also means the return of that great American sport: FOOTBALL!

We at GameAgent are particularly excited about the return of college football (as we are based in Austin, TX, most of us are unapologetically huge Texas Longhorn fans) and are just as eager as many of you to see how the season will play out.  Will Alabama repeat as National Champions, or will Florida stop them before they even get out of the SouthEastern Conference?  Will Ohio State rise to the occasion behind star quarterback Terrelle Pryor, or will Boise State, the mid-major that could, surprise everyone and become the first team not from a major conference to win the National Title?  The season is sure to be filled with close calls, upsets, and tons of excitement–anything can (and will) happen!

Why You Should Care

“So,” you’re probably wondering, “How does any of this affect me?”  We’re glad you asked!  Starting this coming weekend, which is the opening weekend for NCAA football, GameAgent will be implementing a weekly promotion we’re (brilliantly) calling the “College Football Game of the Week!”

Each week we’ll be picking one marquee college football game upon which everything will hinge.  Each team in the marquee match-up will represent one of the games in our store and a proposed sale or discount of those games.  The game that is represented by the winning team will then go on sale the following week; there will always be a winner, so there will always be a game on sale!  That means no matter who comes out on top in the football game, EVERYBODY wins!

So, what’s next?  Well, first, be sure to come back on Friday to see what potential games and discounts will be up for grabs this weekend.  You’ll also find out which football game will decide the coming sale.  Game predictions, analysis, and maybe even a little trash talk to rival fans are encouraged–those that participate may just get a little something extra for their efforts!

But that’s not all–we’re anxious to hear more from you!  What’s your favorite team?  Which of our games would you like to see up for discounts?  Your responses will help determine the “College Football Games of the Week” to come!
