If you head over to our main site, GameAgent.com, you may notice some changes. Go ahead and check it out—we’ll wait…
Pretty neat, right?
We’ve made some improvements to the interface that should make navigating the site much easier. Here’s a rundown of some of the updates:
The new homepage gets right to the good stuff: the latest and greatest Mac gaming releases. You’ll also get previews of recent deals and promos and instant access to the top Mac gaming news and other features from here on our blog!
We’ve introduced a new Dashboard page that keeps track of everything you do on the site. You’ll be able to access games on your Wish List (more on that below) as well as get access to all games that are supported on your Mac via Mac Match. You’ll also find all your site settings and preferences, including management of your Mac Profiles for use with Mac Match. Of course, all this info will be easily accessible from the new My Stuff drop down menu, too, so you’ll be able to get to where you want from anywhere on the site.
User Collections have been simplified to a single list: the Wish List. Much like Deal Alerts worked previously, GameAgent will monitor any game in your Wish List for price drops and then automatically notify you when a game goes on sale.
We now have built-in region detection which means GameAgent will automatically show you the relevant currency (between $USD, £GBP, and €EUR) and relevant age ratings (between ESRB and PEGI) for any game you want to check out. Of course, you can also manually change your location by clicking the country flag at the top of the page.
Our Favorites List
GameAgent Collections have been renamed Our Favorites. For those unaware, this is where you’ll find curated lists of our favorite (natch) Mac games, genres, and other combinations of games. It’s a great way to discover and find groups of similar games.
User Collections and User Reviews
With the update, we have temporarily removed User Collections (or as noted earlier, repurposed these as the Wish List) and User Reviews. While these features had great potential, neither worked up to the expectations of our users or us. Fear not, though, for we plan on revisiting both in a future update.
Faster Loading and Other Behind the Scenes Improvements
Of course, there are tons of other minor and behind-the-scenes updates to the site that will make the user experience better in subtle ways such as making the site load and work faster. And we’ll keep working to make the site the best Mac gaming destination on the web!
Of course, the best way to see all the updates is to check them out for yourself. So head on over to the new site, check it out, and let us know what you think!
