I just have to say this… touchscreen devices have some use in gaming… especially games made or suited to it.

But many games made for a joypad that require your thumb constantly engaged? They are awkward.
I have pacman on my phone and it is OK, but even with just needing to manipulate the joystick, its awkward, while the DS fits comfortably in my hands. The article is biased and part of that camp that grins with glee at seeing apple “crush” nintendo.

The 3DS failed because it was released as summer was coming, and it was expensive. And while a lot of teens and preteens want cellphones and will buy games for them… that’s old news. The average age for a gamer is 41 I hear now, so while teens are getting into that… the older folks will want actual buttons and a d-pad. The only real gamer phone is the one sony released.
